A wise man learns every day. The fool knows everything.

Dogs have always been present in my life. My Dad deeply believed that every child should have their own pet to look after. This is how initially ... cats came to our house, although I always dreamed of a dog!

My first dogs are mongrels, found on the streets and brought home, often against the will of their parents. Especially if the dogs belonged to... neighbors ;-) I've always wanted a dog that I could work with. This need took physical shape when I started my internship in the Dog Training Section of the Polish Kennel Club, in the Warsaw branch, almost 25 years ago. My choice was not very popular at the time - Belgian Shepherd Dogs Malinois - famous for their choleric temperament, destructive tendencies and great speed of learning, which causes the risk of bad conditioning. Despite experiences with different breeds, Malinois have a special place in my life. In retrospect, it turned out that I subordinated my whole life to my passion and completely gave it to the dogs,.

In so many years in cynology I went through countless courses, trainings, seminars, workshops in Poland and Europe. Today it is difficult to find all the diplomas I have collected during this time. I chose primarily those workshops and trainings that were consistent with my interests, i.e. related to learning obedience, intra-species communication of dogs and the symbiosis of the above. Also, all behavioral disorders, such as chronic stress, aggressive behavior have been and are the subject of my interest.

I am primarily a practitioner, but what is practice apart from science?

As a student at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, I defended my master's thesis comparing the effectiveness of dog training with various methods available on the market at the time, carried out in the Department of Genetics and General Animal Breeding, Department of Ethology at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences under the supervision of Katarzyna Fiszdon, PhD who is also an international cynological Judge. This is the time of gaining experience, skills, looking for my own training path.

After several years of improving only practical skills, I started doctoral studies at the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences, at the Department of Animal Behavior, where I participated in the implementation of research grants on the behavior of dogs. The most interesting ones concerned the detection of cancer by dogs that were kept at the Institute or the search for the cause of fear aggression in dogs, using dogs serving in the Police.

Several years of cooperation with the Police Kennel Club resulted in a doctoral dissertation entitled "Behavioral profile and cortisol concentration in the saliva of dogs detecting drugs and explosives", written under the supervision of Professor Tadeusz Jezierski.

I have been a member of the Polish Kennel Club for 25 years (for many years a member of the Dog Training Section and Non-Polish Shepherd Dogs).

I have been a member of the Polish Ethological Society for 15 years.

For over a dozen years I have been teaching at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in postgraduate studies related to the behavior of dogs.

And besides? I divide my time between:

  • my charges (and their owners) with whom I work regularly,

  • new Mentees, who are still coming,

  • students with whom I share my knowledge

  • and, and perhaps most of all, with my family, who supports me every step of the way in my crazy actions.

The family includes: Zeeva (Cane Corso, 7 yo), Lael (Cane Corso, 5 yo), electric Choice (Belgian Shepherd Dog Malinois, 5 yo) and Grisha (mix, 7 yo).
